Crypto law stalls in Congress; 3x leveraged BTC/ETH ETFs get cleared
No clear lean
Legislative setback offset by new trading products becoming available
What happened
A proposed US law called the CLARITY Act, which would have set clearer rules for crypto, didn't move forward in Congress. At the same time, regulators gave the green light to the first 3x leveraged ETFs for Bitcoin and Ethereum, which are funds designed to triple the daily gains or losses of those coins.
Why it matters
Clear federal crypto rules are still on hold, but traders now have a new, much riskier way to bet on Bitcoin and Ethereum price swings through regular brokerage accounts.
Should I do anything?
Nothing to act on here. If you ever see a 3x leveraged ETF, know it's built for short-term trading and can lose value fast in choppy markets, not for casual long-term holding.
