Bitget hackers shift $4M into Zcash to hide the trail

No clear lean
Bad for the hacked exchange, not a market-wide event
What happened

After a hack on the crypto exchange Bitget, the stolen $4 million was moved into Zcash, a cryptocurrency that has an optional privacy feature letting people hide transaction details. By using that private pool, the hackers made it much harder for investigators to trace where the money goes next.

Why it matters

This is mainly a story about how stolen funds get laundered, not something that affects the value or safety of crypto you hold elsewhere.

Should I do anything?

No action needed unless you have funds on Bitget, in which case it's worth checking their official statements. This doesn't affect other exchanges or wallets.
