What happened
Coldcard, a company that makes physical devices for storing bitcoin offline, released a security update to its device software. This came after a separate incident where someone stole $114 million in bitcoin, and Coldcard says using AI tools helped its team find extra bugs while reviewing their code.
Why it matters
If you use a Coldcard device, updating your firmware (the device's internal software) is worth doing since it includes security fixes, but this wasn't a flaw in Coldcard itself causing the theft.
